Having experienced NYC once before, I was ridiculously excited to go back. I had a lot more planned for this trip than my last one as that was more of a shopping trip whereas this one I wanted to explore New York and places that most people perhaps wouldn't think to visit on a trip to the big apple. On the first day, I walked down to Bonnington feelinge extremely sleep deprived after only getting 4 hours sleep, however the journey to Heathrow soon woke me up as we were all raring to get to the airport. The check in all went smoothly and soon me, Soph & Elea were making our way to grab some food before our flight.
Personally I love flying, there's just something so exciting about travelling at 36,000 ft and watching the journey from above the clouds. Although at first I was gutted we weren't all seated together, I was sat next to two lovely girls who I loved speaking to. I know a lot of people on my course have said they've found it harder to mix with more people so us being all mixed on the plane actually worked out well. The landing into JFK was incredible, the view is something that can only be summed up by saying I understand why it's called 'the city of lights'. The image below was the view from the window about 10 minutes before landing.
We arrived at the Hotel Walcott and I was instantly in love with the lobby, very vintage but so beautiful with mirrored doors, chandeliers and incredible ceiling decor. We went up to our rooms for a quick outfit change as it felt like -100 outside and headed to times square. We grabbed Starbucks and got speaking to some guys who were singers, one thing I've noticed about NYC is that everyone is so friendly and welcoming. We also got on the big screen at times square (which I class as a huge achievement)
