On wednesday, we decided to head down to Grand Central as it's such a beautiful building, it instantly reminded me of the moment Serena Van Der Woodsen appeared at the station after months away from the Upper East Side.
Anyways, we went along and got the subway to Soho, one of my favourite places ever. It was absolutely freezing so it made enjoying the views slightly hard as I felt like my legs were about to freeze any second. However we made a trip to Rickys which is a store I visited on my last trip to NYC and loved, its full of everything from NYX to Ben Nye makeup. I picked up some Ben Nye banana powder which I have wanted for years after seeing one of my favourite make up artists Mario Dedivanovic use it on his models.
After strolling through Soho we picked up a coffee and headed to Chinatown, where you couldn't enter a shop without being hassled to death. Personally I hate this selling technique, I've found sales assistants in shops here are extremely over the top in general, constantly bombarding you to try new products but feeding you compliments at the same time. I prefer a relaxed shopping environment so it did cause me a bit of stress being hassled so much.
In the evening we returned to the hotel and decided to go up to the top of the Rockefeller. Having previously been up the Empire State I thought it would be fun to try the Rockefeller instead as you get the view of the entire city plus the empire state building.
